Coman adds to Romania's angst
Goalkeeper Dănuţ Coman has become the second player to be ruled out of Romania's UEFA EURO 2008™ campaign after breaking a thumb in training on Friday.
Costly save
The 29-year-old FC Rapid Bucureşti custodian suffered the injury to his left thumb when saving a shot from a team-mate, and is expected to be sidelined for five to six weeks. Coman's injury is the second stroke of bad luck for coach Victor Piţurcă, coming a matter of days after defensive midfielder Ovidiu Petre withdrew from the squad due to a knee injury sustained while playing volleyball at a training camp in Turkey. Coman's place has been taken by Eduard Stancioiu of newly-crowned Romanian Liga 1 champions CFR 1907 Cluj.
