Player facts - Portugal
Nuno Gomes will become the fourth Portuguese player to appear in three European Championships following Fernando Couto, Luis Figo and Rui Costa.
Nuno Gomes can become the first player at Euro 2008 to join Jurgen Klinsmann (Germany) and Vladimir Smicer (Czech) as players who have scored in three different European Championships. Thierry Henry (France) and Henrik Larsson (Sweden) can also achieve this at Euro 2008.
Fernando Meira will win his 50th cap if he plays. He made his debut in a World Cup qualification match in the Netherlands in October 2000.
Goalkeeper Ricardo was Portugal's only ever-present during qualification.
Cristiano Ronaldo was Portugal's top scorer in the qualifiers with eight goals.
Player facts - Turkey
Goalkeeper Rustu Recber is Turkey's most capped player ever with 116 internationals. He is also the only one of the current squad with experience of playing at the European Championship.
Rustu was in goal for all seven of Turkey's previous European Championship matches. He will break the record he shares with five others when he makes his first appearance at Euro 2008.
Only two players have scored for Turkey in their seven European Championship matches. One of these two was Hakan Sukur who was the country's top scorer in Euro 2008 qualifiers with five goals but is not part of Turkey's 2008 squad.
If Rustu Recber, Emre Asik and Tumer Metin play, they will be the three oldest players ever to play for Turkey at the European Championship.
If Mevlut Erding, Arda Turan and Colin Kazim-Richards play, they will be the three youngest players ever to play for Turkey at the European Championship.
All of the goalkeepers and defenders in Turkey's Euro 2008 squad play for Turkish clubs.
