Germany spry and ready to fly

Germany spry and ready to fly

Coach Joachim Löw said he expects a "healthy and resilient" Germany squad to fly out to their UEFA EURO 2008™ base in Ascona, Switzerland, on Tuesday morning.

No concerns
Defender Marcell Jansen picked up a soft tissue injury in Saturday's 2-1 win against Serbia while striker Miroslav Klose was rested due to concern over an ankle problem, but both players are confident that they will be able to play a full role in Germany's first training session in Ascona on Tuesday afternoon. Löw's squad were handed a two-day rest after the Serbia game, Germany's final friendly before UEFA EURO 2008™, although those deemed to be short of fitness were given individual work-out programmes. Their first Group B game against Poland kicks off in Klagenfurt on Sunday 8 June.
